Lucky Wisconsin Lottery Run Puts $100,000 Powerball Ticket in Brown Deer and $146,000 Badger 5 Prize in Dorchester
MADISON, WI — A lucky Monday brought a cluster of winning lottery tickets to Wisconsin, including two Powerball prizes and one Badger 5 jackpot. The biggest Powerball ticket was sold at Otto’s Wine Cask in Brown Deer, while another winning Powerball ticket was bought at The Market in Beaver Dam.
There was also a six-figure Badger 5 winner in Dorchester. Together, the tickets made Aug. 24 a very good day for players and the retailers who sold them.
How the Powerball wins lined up
According to the Wisconsin Lottery, both Powerball tickets matched four of the five white balls, 3, 16, 33, 38 and 68, plus the Powerball number 2. One ticket was worth $100,000 because the player added the $1 Power Play option, which doubled a $50,000 prize to 2X.
The other winning ticket was a standard $50,000 prize. Powerball drawings are held Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 9:59 p.m., and tickets cost $2. Players have to buy them before 9 p.m. to get into that night’s drawing. The odds of landing a $50,000 Powerball prize are 1 in 913,130.
A strong stretch for Wisconsin players
The Wisconsin Lottery said five winning tickets worth at least $50,000 have been purchased in the state over the last six drawings, a stretch that stands out even in a game built on long odds. That kind of run does not happen every week, which is part of what makes these wins so eye-catching.
Lottery winners in Wisconsin also have time to claim their prizes, but not forever. Players get 180 days from the draw date to file a claim, and the lottery says winners can check tickets through its website or mobile app. Retailers that sell winning tickets over $599 receive a 2% incentive, up to $100,000.
The Badger 5 jackpot adds to the haul
Monday’s other standout prize came from Badger 5, where a winning $146,000 ticket was sold at River Country CO-OP in Dorchester. Badger 5 is drawn every day after 9 p.m., with tickets priced at $1 and required to be purchased before 9 p.m. to count for that night’s game.
The odds of winning the Badger 5 jackpot are 1 in 169,911, making it another tough-but-possible shot that paid off for one Wisconsin player. For the state lottery, the day highlighted how a single drawing cycle can spread major wins across several communities at once.
